IWW report damns 2012 construction site state

IWW construction workers on the Olympic construction site have produced a damning report on the state of the worksite. The report argues for greater worker control of unions and a militant
rank-and-file approach.

 

Housing Activists Seize “Mr and Mrs Expenses MP” Home!

A group of housing activists have entered and occupied the house of Anne and Alan Keene. Both Labour MPs they were known as “Mr and Mrs Expenses” two years before the MP spending scandal broke; Mrs Keen, a health minister recently admitted making an expense claim for private hospital treatment for a member of her staff. At the centre of their scandal was their double mortgage claim, where they illegally used Parliamentary expenses to pay interest on the mortgages of both their homes – one of which has now been occupied by outraged locals along with activists from all backgrounds and nationalities.

 

Class Struggles in Enfield

Freedom interviews one of the workers active in the occupation and picket of the Visteon factory in Enfield.

Workers at the car parts manufacturing plants in Enfield, Basildon and Belfast won a seven week battle against Visteon UK, (and their former employer's Ford), after they were sacked without notice when the company went bust. In what was a monumental victory against car giants Ford, whom the workers were still contracted to, they are now receiving a proper redundancy package. We talk to Vijay, one of those active in the campaign over the past two months.
